thats one reason why you see so many of them in the hands of the top shooters in the world. i now hunt with a beretta, why because it is a better product. i have owned two benelli shotguns, were they ok yes they were. i have never ever seen a benelli in the winners circle. i am not in the top class of shooters, but i am on the illinois state team and have won my fair share of shoots. i have shot all over the country competeing with the best shooters in the game(sporting clays, skeet) and i am friends with alot of them. shotguns on the other hand i know a lot about. Ok guys i am not trying to start anything here what so ever. Benelli's are in high demand and much valued for their reliablity. The Beretta is a wonderful shotgun - but how many of them do LE SWAT cops, High Risk Entry Teams, Hostage Rescue, Secret Service, and elite military units such as SEALS, ect. A hunter that is packing his gun over rough terrain and brushy cover, and/or, logging miles and needs a quick pointing gun and really doesn't shoot hundreds of times in a day, has a great appreciation of the light, quick pointing, and reliable Benelli.Īs for reliability, nothing competes with the Benelli inertia operated action. Benelli has taken steps with the M2 guns to lessen that recoil effect with the ComfortTech stock and better recoil pads than the old M1's like I have come supplied with. If you're shooting thousands of rounds the short recoil operated action of the Benelli is a little harder on the shooter than the heavier weighing gas operated semiauto shotguns. The reason you don't see Benelli in the shooting games as much as some other brands isn't a reliablity issue - it is a recoil issue. when it comes to shotguns i really do know what im talking about. if you have any other questions please send me a pm. thats not nessasary for your average shotgunner, but in the games i play one target can mean going home with the cash or going home empty handed. if it doesnt fit you cant hit! i have to have all my stocks custom fitted to my body, even the berettas i hunt with are fitted. a benelli works with an inertia system and the berettas are a gas system and the gas system will help with recoil a great deal! buy what feels best to you that is one of the main things to consider. it a same really because there sure do fit me well.
i have also seen to many of them stove pipe in the duck blinds. i shoot about 10,000 shells a year and travel all over the states competing and i no what works and what does not work and a benelli is surely not at the top of the list. some people will disagree and thats fine. beretta is without question the best semi auto shotgun in the world. if were the one looking for a shotgun for any reason the choice is an easy one. with that said i all so hunt duck about 45 days out of the 60 day season and have seen bennellis used in the pits. one thing that i have noticed is that you rarely see a benelli being used. I shoot sporting clays tournament all summer long and have been quite successful with my shooting for several years.
